Less than 2 months left in our gut rehab of a Park Slope townhouse. These older, narrow Brooklyn townhouses are often dark at their core due to the archetypal configuration of small closed rooms and even smaller front and rear windows. This leads to a feeling of confinement and insularity which our modern minds tell us is wrong. Our solution was to create an enlarged stair opening at each floor to bring light down through to the lowest levels and create a greater connection between the floors.
